I’d been stalking her on Facebook for a couple months, and finally went to meet in person mrgreen

She lived in a barn shared with pigs and chickens, but I don’t judge. Cleaning up nice hah

The transom and floor are rock solid. I couldn’t get a single transom or seat base screw to strip out.

I pressure washed all of the carpet, hit the hull and outboard with toilet bowl cleaner, and removed a pound of grease from the splash-well/outboard.

Still lots of stuff to do. The trailer needs the axle adjusted (dog tracks), needs a new fuel vent and gasket on fuel cap, the winch post needs to move back (rollers are showing at the stern), fenders are loose, bad trailer light, bow lights don’t work, missing a bearing buddy, ancient fuel lines, ancient tires, needs polish/wax, wire in a graph, install a charger, etc.

If the rest of it looks as good as that trailer you’ve found yourself a gem! waytogo

Unless someone did a new paint job on that boat and Trailer. It has had very little use. Good find !!!

Wow, so strange to see one of those Shorelander trailers without rust. Looks like a nice, solid boat. I am surprised it sat for a couple of months on Facebook, even in the off season.

Nice to see a new boat thread and pics. Not enough of those anymore on this forum. Now you have plenty of time to rig it up for open water.

I’ve got a 2001 1600 pro sport so only a couple years newer. Really like it, built like a tank. There are days I wish it had more storage but that just keeps me from buying too much stuff.

Keep an eye on transom, when I redid mine last year it was obvious (after transom was out) water was getting in through the splashwell scuppers (that were not sealed at all originally other than being crimped) that caused the rot. I had just noticed some bubbling near the scuppers, checked under the transom cap and seemed good but as i was checking things out from the bilge side i found out the bottom of transom was exposed so poked around and the screwdriver drove right up into it off to the sides (center area where OB is mounted was still solid).

I sold mine 2 years ago. It was a nice riding boat in great shape.

Glenn57, it was pretty easy to identify what it was, there isnt a pair of uh, er, ahem, fish baskets and a spud bar hanging off the back.

See? Iowaboy is just as good as me at sexting…or sexing I mean.

    That’s an awesome looking boat/trailer for a 1997-’98!
I had the same model in the 1700 and fished it A LOT!
With the bullhead tank sloshing around every weekend, I was worried about floor rot. It was solid until the day I sold it.

I thought the girls had inboards and the boys had outboards?

I ran a 2000 1700 ProSport for 12 great years! Did everything from Superior and Voyageurs down to the small local lakes in it.
That “youngun” in the passenger seat is now a sophomore in college, dang I miss those days!!

I’m 40 right now and have a 1986 at home…She a bit of an older model but has low miles, probably going to hang on to her for awhile rotflol

As for the boat, it’s all original and is 8-9 out of 10 for the age.

I had the exact boat about six years ago that was a unicorn, barely had a scratch on it and all of the carpet was still fluffy. Still kicking myself for selling it but I made a killing on it.

This one I’ll probably keep for awhile….but I’m also a self confessed boat whore.

I’ve had eight boats in the last eight years jester , with two in the garage at most times.

I’ll dig up a couple pics of my last 1600 Pro Sport, man that was a gorgeous boat. One in a million. Installed a used 24volt I-pilot ($600) and an HDS 8 I had laying around, then doubled my money on it (and still kicking myself)

Good god that was probably a steal . I’d hate to guess what you paid and then sold some of these rigs for! My buddy had an 03 Lund Fisherman he bought , used it for 8 years and sold for 8 k more than he bought it for . The boat market can be nuts !

Beautiful boat! I don’t even want to know how cheap you got that thing. It looks like it’s about as close to mint for the age as you can get.

My first boat was a 1990 16′ Lund that I regret selling. The stories that boat could tell… Thankfully I sold it to a younger guy and as of a few years ago he was still running it and had it in decent shape. This post makes me want to shoot him a message and see if he still has it.

My prized model I’ve got for life at home is a 1990 as well. That one is definitely younger than me, more intelligent, and is in better shape than most rigs 15 years newer lol
