    It was repaired under warranty.

How hard was it getting it covered? I figured since it says “accidents” are not covered, I’d have no chance, I hit a rock after just putting it on rabbit speed.

When I broke mine the local minn kota rep that replaced it told me it is warranted for life if you are the original owner

I am the original owner and bought it in”09″. Did they replace just the shaft or the shaft and motor? Maybe I can get reimbursed for at least some of it?

If it’s one year old, what about a warranty? They also advertise:

“Indestructible Composite Shaft — Guaranteed for Life: At the core of your Minn Kota trolling motor is an indestructable composite shaft. It’s a Minn Kota exclusive, and we guarantee it for life.”

This. Even if out of warranty, I’d give Minnkota a call and see what they say.

Update: I just contacted Minnkota via E-mail and they are going to reimburse me $185.39 for the shaft assembly, as the motor would not have been replaced. Very quick responses from them!
