I bought the 13 fishing Pickle combo last season. Pulled it out to get my stuff ready for my 1st outing.. tip was curled down I bent it back to straighten it out and it broke.. is their a way to fix it? Does 13 warranty them? Or do I just need to buy a different rod?
That sucks you broke your pickle. I try to keep mine straight as much as I can.
Did you break the flat end near the tip? I have fixed the flat tip area by overlapping the flat slabs about 1/4 inch, super glue or epoxy together with a clamp. Once the epoxy is set, wrap it with rod thread (actually I’ve used 2# superline, seal with fingernail polish or rod-thread glue. Not even noticeable.
I don’t feel the difference with a lost 1/2 inch in the rod, in fact have broken the picklestick twice and the wicked=once. To prevent this these rods need to be stored with the bail open or drag loosened.
When storing the pickle or tickle stick you need to leave them straight. Leaving line on the with the tip curled over gives then a permanent bend.
Yes I broke the flat end… I’m going to give this a try.. thanks for the help.. lesson learned don’t store them with a tight line😔
I’ve heard the cure for a bent/crooked tip is to hang it from the tip or a bit if line through the tip.
