    2-4-DB. The DB is key

This is NOT the same as 2-4-D.

    Generics available everywhere.

I have used 2-4-D and it worked pretty good, slightly yellowed the clover if you looked hard enough. But they bounced right back. LV-400.. which stands for Less Volatile.

    What is 2-4-DB?

    What is 2-4-DB?

    2,4-DB is 2,4-dichlorophenoxybbutyric acid

    2,4-D is 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid

DB has some added benefits against certain weed types, but the main benefit is that DB won’t kill certain types of clover and the big one is that it won’t kill soybeans, even if they are under moderate stress.

2,4-D will kill soybeans, especially if they are stressed when you spray or experience stress after spraying.

Most clover varieties under MOST growing conditions are fairly herbicide resistant. I know several guys who spray clover with low-strength Roundup to control both broadleaf weeds and grasses.

My concern about spraying with Roundup that is not the recommended strength is that obviously, you are risking creating more Roundup-resistant weeds. This is bigger and bigger problem and IMO considering the small cost difference between 2,4-DB and Roundup, food plotters shouldn’t be contributing to the problem. It costs a few dollars more per acre to spray DB on clover.

Personally, I have very few problems with broadleafs in clover. Grasses are the big issue for me and unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of choices for cheap grass killing in clover. Cleth is about it.
