Bringing a kid fishing, but not fishing myself

    My granddaughter who is 13 wants me to take her fishing, but I don’t have a license and have no desire to fish. If I’m with her but I’m not fishing do I need a license? We are both Minnesota residents.

    Page 19 of the regs says:

    If an adult is showing a child younger than 16 how to bait, cast, and remove fish, no license is needed. The child must hold the rod, set the hook, and reel in the fish.
