Just got back from the river and it’s a chocolate malt.
We ended up walking out a mile of Morris Point and getting dinner anyway. Jigged with the long rods and deadsticked with a spool of of 8 pound and a plain hook. Somebody was nice enough to let use his auger. (Thanks!) We’ve been saying it for years, but we should load in the icefishing stuff because when the river goes sour, it’s SOUR. Hopefully it won’t be an issue in 3 weeks.

I had the same results over the past weekend. Luckily we had packed some basic gear and walked out about 1.5 miles. Definitely saved the weekend for us.

We stayed at Morris Pt this weekend. Fished the Lighthouse Gap area Saturday and it was BRUTAL. 4 guys caught 6 fish all day. The water was like looking into a snowglobe.
Friday afternoon and Sunday we fished out from Morris Pt and did really well. Nothing big, but it was definite action.

We are scheduled to go up April 2-3-4. do you think that’s enough time for the river to clear up?
