Very neat. But that motor probably needs to be completely gone through. Sitting that long drys every gasket out. But that is pretty neat. I guess some one had to much money and not enough time
There was a Chevy dealership in Nebraska. Guy would keep vehicles that didn’t bring his price. After a lot of years in business they had an auction. There were trucks behind the building with big trees growing thru them. Corvettes and such inside. But roof was shot on the building. Brand new 57 Apatche pickup in the building.
Very cool, If I was in the market I would offer 12k and spend the remainder on going through the motor replacing all hoses and gaskets. After that enjoy a really nice vintage boat!
IMHO, that’s a lot of money for a 35-year old boat, even if it has never seen the water. It’s not like it’s a muscle car. I’ve never seen a mid-80s fishing rig and though, “Oh, that’s awesome!”

Totally agree. There is no collector’s market and therefore a large premium price to be had for 1980s aluminum boats. It’s not like it’s a 67 GTO that has been sitting in the shed with 12 miles on the clock.
Also, the I/O version of the Tyee was never a particularly popular combination and demand for that configuration is limited on the used market.
Its cool from a nostalgia point of view being that old and new. But technology changes are so far better then back then, I would still go with a newer boat.
Someone will buy it at that price point and probably keep it as a collector’s item. I highly doubt anyone is buying it to put it to use.
Those were great boats.
Would be great to see in person.
My mom’s hubby had a very similar year 16′ tyee with an outboard, really was a mini tank, but also in great condition. Step back in time for sure.

If lund has a museum that would be a nice addition to it.
If that boat had an outboard I would buy it. I am one of those odd balls that would rather have an old and mint than new. I have told my local chevy dealer several times to order me a new 97 Z71 Ext cab, and I will take 2 of them if I can pay list price in 97. I also have been keeping an eye out for a 16 foot lund rebel that is in excellent shape, even though I could just buy a new fury, but then I would have new fury. I want an old Lund rebel. Some guys are into newest and some guys are not. I am not… I like old trucks, old boats, green thermos’ and steel belted coleman coolers. New trucks are more comfortable, new boats perform much better, and yeti products are pretty nice, but I just cannot seem to appreciate them.
