Tuesday night we held our NBAA division 54 tournament on Branched Oak. The lake really looks great right now. The water is at or slightly above full pool. We fished back in area 2. Everything looked perfect, but we didn’t catch any fish. All of the willows and brush that grew in while the lake has been low the past few years are now standing in about 5 feet of water. Hopefully, the water stays up. With a few good spawning classes the lake will be back to the good old days in about 5 years. Hopefully the bass repopulate.
Back to the tournament. Only two bass were caught. I had a feeling it would be tough with all the new cover to spread the bass out. The winning team was Mark and Fred Madision. This was the 3rd tournament of the year and thier 3rd win. They brought in one fish to the scales that weighed 3.97 pounds. Here is a picture for you viewing pleasure.
