We have great ice now and we are hitting the lakes at full steam. Most lakes are averaging 6-8 inches as of today and the fishing has been decent. The crappie bite started good on the smaller lakes, while most walleye anglers are hitting Round, Gull, or Pelican. Jigs and minnow heads for the walleyes and Ratso’s or Demons tipped with a small minnow or spike has worked best for the crappies. A couple more cold days and then the temps are going up again for the weekend. Should be prime time out there.
