    Hello guys,

Willing to help a fella out?

I will be up in the Brainerd area this week with my family and was thinking of trying the Upper and Lower Whitefish Lake area. I would like to know which resorts or places have access points? Veichles are 4×4 but, obviously the plowed trails on ice are more safer. Any advice, suggestions, or info would greatly be appreciated.

Or even if another lake in that are is biting better.

    Thank you!

Not exactly what you’re asking but was in the area last weekend. North Long and Margaret to be specific.

Part of this depends on exactly what you have for four wheel drive. Anything less than a full size will be a different answer. Mine is a 2003 Tahoe with the Z71 package that includes the locking rear differential. My buddy commented that his Chevy Traverse wouldn’t have done so hot.

North Long – the access I used was only possible as someone else had wheel tracks for the first 1/4 mile. After that I was fine as long as I paid some attention to the drifts.

Good luck and don’t forget to pack shovels

Margaret – less snow and no issue getting around, at least where we were fishing.
