Picked up my first fishing boat in early July. Some of you may have seen my posts where Mr. Murphy has made getting out difficult. After fits having the outboard working and not the electric then vice versa I got a few more projects done.

    Motor runs great now
Trolling motor – installed a breaker in place of the inline fuse
Fixed the bad wiring on the bow light
    Installed an on board charger
    and then went fishing.

Got out to the north end of Gull for two hours on Saturday morning and 3 hours on Sunday.

Saturday was jig or Lindy riggin on a hump with access to deep water. Very, very slow with a sunfish and a bass to show for our efforts.

Sunday was not too far away but deep edge of weedline off the shore. Lindy with a leech again but I was casting a Moxy. Got a couple bass on the jig so we switched to trolling cranks. Picked up a 22″ pike and then broke the ice with my first Gull lake walleye! Finally success.

No trophy but good to finally have a little success. Hopefully my reports along with my success improve as I learn the lake.

Really feels nice to have a properly functioning boat and actually catch something:)

No pics, didn’t have a camera with and the fish were way less than worthy of photos.

Gull is a great lake up there. I know a few weeks after labor day it will be hot. Walleye bite can be very good once the traffic on the lake dies down.
