Coming out of retirement

    I’m getting back into fishing (don’t yell at me) and I’m looking for some local lake tips. My family and I recently moved back to the Brainerd Lakes Area and live close to South Long Lake. Would like to take the kids out to do some Crappie fishing, anyone with experience on that lake or tips/tricks for a guy who hasn’t been a faithful fishermen over the last 5 years?

    I spend time in the Gull/Margaret area at my folks place. Most of my help would be through the ice as I just got a fishing boat a month ago.

    Not sure on crappies or South Long specifically. The first thing I would look for is the deep weed edge and see how that goes.
