I’ve done this 5 years in a row. Can’t make it this year sadly. We stay up way too late drinking the night before. Sled over in the morning. Hungover and catch nothing during the tournament. Couple guys usually nap it off on the ice. I buy cheese curds. More beers. Wait for it to end. Go to Ernie’s for Greenies and spin tales. Complain that we never win. Dream of the truck or ice castle. Do the same thing next year.

They aren’t allowed to use any augers. I believe they can bring a chisel and a scoop.

World’s largest ice fishing tailgate party. I fished in it for close to 20 years. Now that I’m older, it’s a hard pass in this type of weather.

Well there’s your winner! Ok, it’s early, but that’ll be hard to beat.

That fish deserves to win. Odds of catching 10lb walleye with 20k lines in the water. Kudos to that kid.

He caught it in 55 FOW.

I have heard that the holes over deeper water are often the ones that have a better chance of catching a fish.

All fish must be released alive (and brought to the weigh in alive). Would have to be a replica.

    Rule 2.14
All fish entered into the contest must be brought to the weigh-in station immediately and must be alive. Please bring fish to weigh-in station in a bag or bucket, as the contest is live release.

so…based on the depth in which it was caught, the outsidetemp and depending on how far away he was from the weigh in spot……….in reality what possible chance does that fish have to survive???????????

    i understand rules but shees!!!!!

It’s interesting how the bite changes from year to year. Looked like most of the top ten were walleyes. Sometimes it’s tullibees and eyes from the deep and other times it’s pike and eyes shallow. We usually fish around 45’, but don’t have much luck. Too busy drinking and watching other people catching em!

The 13 year old took the cash option. Turns out that Zac is a nephew of a friend of mine in Hutchinson.
