So booked a cabin last minute on Bowstring taking a couple buddies up. Have not been on the lake this early in the year. Anyone have experience on it early, are the fish gonna still be shallow? Any help would be appreciated.

If your talking about the public access on the north east corner of the lake. I was told by several people at the resort my boat and the bunk trailer would not work well at that one due to the lake being down. I did launch and load there last year but bottomed out coming off.

Was there last Friday, that landing is very shallow, barely got in with a roller trailer. Fishing was slow but did scratch up five walleye on the north humps. Buddy did better on Saturday on south end.

That landing is always shallow no matter how high the water is. frown has anyone looked at landing a boat over on the access by geiger’s?? Only went out on that one during ice season..

I was told to just go to the south one way down the gravel road, good access the area it’s in is super shallow though also.

Yep that’s the only one my 20′ boat would come off my bunk trailer. It’s shallow getting into the main lake so be a little cautious going out as well.

South access is much better but the miles of dirt road in there is not kind to the boat paint!

Fished Bowstring several days during the week after opener. I never go to the NE access. The northwest is doable with a roller trailer but I only used that once. Launched out of the south access 3 days. This is the only one to use if you have bunks.

Yes, Glenn57. I had to push of and fully crank on my 1875 ProGuide. One of us had to get in the water.
