Those are the ones that people need to harvest more of. The snot rockets.
Glenn do you pickle them or how do you prepare them?
June 16, 2024 at 7:31 pm #2277317Gim I both pickle and smoke the pike! I go through ALOT of them. Give some away I also fry them up. I was raised picking bones out of pike, doesn’t bother me in the least. I’ll also wrap them in foil, season and lemon on top and grill them

oh, and make sure you feed the skeeters!!!!!!
July 9, 2024 at 8:58 am #2280381Made it to the cabin yesterday. Grass is really long, water level in lake is high gotta move dock in, and yogi and booboo made a mess of the bird feeders. Reset some up and showed up again last night there coming down. They left the hummer feeders alone .
Bugs didn’t seem to bad.
Erik SwensonPosts: 431July 9, 2024 at 12:05 pm #2280416Hey Glenn! Water is up yeah. I’ve moved the dock twice now and the lift once. I did notice one or two trees that tipped due to saturated ground a couple of weeks ago. A bit drier this last week/weekend though.
Glad to hear you have power! Enjoy your stay and let me know next time you’re going to be up there. I’ll be back around the 19th probably.

they restarted there goin to the lake thing again. they headed to Deer River for the wild rice festival. they spent time at the Pines on Winnie and some resort on cutfoot.
there piece last night included a stop for breakfast at the Sportsmans cafe in deer river. that placew will never disappoint when it comes to food and price…i strongly recommend stopping there. it doesnt matter how busy it gets…it never takes long to get your food. and be prepared for alot of food!!!

thanks bud, I’d expect that around places that serve food. I know Rileys, formerly cannibal junction, always had issues
October 5, 2024 at 12:45 pm #2292430Bummer. This is a Yamaha 700. Burnt to a crisp. Probably 4 years old. It’s insured. Not sure how the fire depth got to it. It’s basically a wheeler trail. Add how dry and how windy it is lucky the woods didn’t burn down.
