Spam can? That was years ago!

I scored a couple bourbon only glasses from Boats Hate Me. toast

waytogo Those are great glasses. I keep a set of them in my truck in case I land someplace that tries to give me whisky in a Solo cup.

The Knob Creek 9 year is probably my favorite high proof sipper. Knob Creek is great.

Found a couple goodies on a work trip in Texas. They had 1.75’s of BT, but I was already worried about space in my checked bagged for these guys. Luckily they made it home safe!

I got something interesting last week. David Nicholson 1843. 100 proof and my bourbon guy at the shop told me it’s very similar to Weller 107. For $35 I figured it was worth a try and it’s been pretty good. Apparently it’s only distributed outside the Twin Cities in MN and this store has a relationship with the owner. Pretty good, very wheaty but it is similar to 107. Just not as good.

I think we must have the same bourbon guy grin . I’ve been debating picking a bottle of this up, but I’ve been in more of a beer mood than bourbon lately. Which is actually way more expensive, because there’s all these funky sours I want to try that are like twenty freaking dollars a 4 pack flame , and they are gone in like 2 days.

I’ve actually been contemplating selling off some of my bourbon/scotch collection to save up for a snowmobile….tough call though.

I have a few bottles of Glendronach 18 stashed away from 2019. If you like sherried scotch then you need to check out the Glendronach line, it’s awesome from top to bottom. In my opinion they make the best sherried scotch in the world. They fully mature their scotch in sherry barrels instead of just finishing them, so you get a very deep sherry influence.

Another fun fact, the Glendronach distillery was closed from 1996-2001, meaning they didn’t fill any new barrels in that time frame. Which THEN means that if you bought a Glendronach 18 that was bottled in 2019, it is actually aged a minimum of 24 years(since the ‘newest’ barrels that are at least 18 years old would have been filled prior to their closing in 1995/1996.). It also means if you buy a Glendronach 21 bottled in 2022, it will be a minimum of 27 year old whisky!

I went to Costco a few weeks ago and picked up this 15 year Bourbon. Anyone ever have this before? I haven’t opened it up yet to my surprise.

I finished getting the water lines cleaned out in the camper last night, sat down and thought to myself…I should have a 1/2 ounce sipper in celebration of the water being turned on.

Pulled out the Eagle Envy Rye and realized there was only about 3-4 oz left. After two sips, I thought to myself that not only do Boats Hate You, but so does my wallet!! @boatshateme

A couple years ago I looked at Yellowstone bourbon after seeing it advertised while watching the show, but it was over $50 in the Cities. I found it today elsewhere for #34.00/750 and bought it. I just took a snort and its actually a very smooth bourbon.

Really? I asked the Whiskey person at Total Wine about it and he told me let me save you some gut rot and don’t even think about buying.

Thanks for the link EPG. Wow that bottle has a bit of a price tag on it. If I win I will invite you over the second day so I can have a little bit more time with it.

Back to Tennessee this week… when in Leiper’s Fork – do as the “Leppers” do and have their venom… then ran into a restaurant and had one of my old favorites along with an Elk Burger… peace

Are you blending your Eagle Rare and Angel’s Envy Rye to make it go further?

My wallet shouldn’t have to be the only one that suffers. If I can’t be around to share the whiskey then I can at least share in the financial pain.

Every time I cross that bridge I think I oughtta go knocking on Brian’s dock with a bottle of something gold.

Your cat looks about as chill as my cat. Looks peaceful besides I know how muggy it is.
