As if I need another reason not to go there. rotflol
Ill be needing a little more motivation before I take the vaccine. Like access to food, water and a job.

You can also cross job off your list. Uncle Joe will take care of you.

Don’t get your hopes up guys. The upcoming easing of restrictions is for air travel only.

Canada is only at 8.5% fully vaccinated so I doubt any restrictions will be lifted soon

…but the rest of the story is that over 68% have received the first shot which is pretty on par. (they require a longer time period between shots).

If i was a betting man, I say Aug 21st as they want 75% with one shot and 20% fully vaccinated before reopening…but fingers crossed they achieve that sooner! I’d also suspect they offer some type of access after the june cut-off but with some stipulations.

nothing to keep people from producing fakes

Falsifying those vaccine cards is a federal crime since they have the CDC logo on them. Just an FYI

I know someone with fake papers and they are easy to get. I can’t tell the difference between the real and fake ones.

Canada must not be getting people their second dose within 2 weeks of the 1st dose. Current Info shows that they have almost 65% of their population with the 1st dose and around 10% that is fully vaccinated. 2 weeks ago they were already over 50% with their 1st dose. So much for the info. that you must have both dose’s within 2 weeks for it to be effective. I’m still going to say the border will be open to recreational travel by as early as Aug. 17th or by Sept. 17th at the latest. This may just be wishful thinking on my part.

Ya. The no drinking in the boat is a little hard to get use to. Then again I don’t often drink alcohol in the boat while fishing here in Minnesota. After I get home that is a different matter toast To enjoy how good their fishing is I can live with such a minor inconvenience. You want to drink in a boat and witness some of the dangers that come with it, Spend a sunny weekend afternoon on lake Minnetonka. How there are not more boat crashes out there. I don’t know.

Canada is doing their vaccinations differently than the US, focusing priority on getting first doses to everyone rather than sticking to the 3-4 week between doses like the US.

When reading Ontario’s reopening plan, I don’t see the border opening for leisure anytime soon, and even if it does I’d expect plenty of restrictions.

You or I cannot tell the difference, but I can assure you that if a federal law enforcement wants to track it down, they can. There is a record of every person’s vaccine at the CDC. That is how they are tracking the vaccination rate.

If you “sneak” into Canada with a fake and get caught, then you’re in international crime territory. Doesn’t seem worth it to me.

There are so many great fishing lakes in northern MN that are just as good as the Canadian shield lakes if you put in some time. I don’t get why people will drive countless hours past these lakes and spend so much money, deal with the mess at the border (i.e. if any of your buddies have a dwi or anything like that) and paying $$ on duties and a Canadian fishing license to catch a couple of the Queen’s fish. It’s pretty obvious to me that Canadians want to make it as difficult as possible for Americans to come spend their money there. Northern Minnesota has more lakes than I can fish in my lifetime, I’ll stick around here. If you are looking for a destination fishing trip, forget Canada and go to Alaska.

I have a good idea, the first day the canadian border is open to recreational traffic lets start a post saying the border is now open to recreational traffic. Just curious how long do you think it will be before we see that post????

Same reason some go to Mexico to fish salt water. Plenty of salt water in the states.
Some enjoy it who am I to judge that. whistling

Please tell me where in Minnesota or any other state I can catch numerous pike over 20 pounds on any day – June July August. Or boat on a lake for 2 days covering 100 miles of water and be lucky to see 2 boats. Or catch lakers that average 20 pounds with a real shot at a 50 or catch a brooky over 25 inches. Or a legit shot at a 35″ walleye.
Better yet give me a lake you can do all 4 in one week and I’ll stop going to Canada and recalibrate my adventures!

Just so you guys know, they are starting roll out of a vaccine passport. It’s a card with a QR code on it. It links with the govt database and gives a yes or no when scanned. Not sure how it’s going to work with Americans.

So the feds will be there looking at every passport. Just like they track every fake bill in the states. Or all the drugs coming in. I bet they will hop right on it

Uncle Joe just bought 500 million doses from Phizer today. He says the US will lead the World out of this pandemic. Anybody know what Phizer is charging these days?

As of yesterday it was approx $19.50 per dose, US funds. Uncle Joe has lots of spending going on with an empty bank account.
