I have a few lakes I frequent at night during the hot summer weeks. I’m always amazed that we set up for walleyes and rarely go without a bonus smallie or few.
This is the result of strategizing a point that 90’s a shallow flat, with deep breaks on both sides. We focused on 6′ and 4′ diving crankbaits because the breaks fall deep at 6′. Therefore, we were trying to cover the break itself as well as on top of the point.
We trolled off the shallow flat, paralleling the point, then turned to place one lure on the break, the other on top. We both got hit only a second or two apart.
