Okay. just looked at the forecast and thought it was time to get this post going again. 50 forecasted for the twin cities this weekend. That sounds like boating weather to me. This has been a fantastic winter. Think its only been a couple of weekends that I havent been able to get the boat out. Early spring is on the way.

I got the boat ready and put the ice gear in the back of the garage yesterday. Looks to nice to not hit the river.

Pumped to get back out on open water this weekend. When we were out last in December, the river was high and fast and fishing was tough. Hoping the stable water level will help our cause!

Does anybody know if pool 2 ramps are/will be open by Friday Saturday I’d prefer to hit pool 2 but will go to pool 4 if that’s all that’s available.

I just drove over it today and about 1/3rd of the middle is open by the launch. It’s hard to say if it will be open. Someone would have to check the ice thickness at the ramp currently….1…2…3… NOT IT!

With the nice conditions today Im surprised 494 is not open or that someone didnt break it open. It wont take long. To many times Ive seen that ramp froze up in the morning and clear shore to shore in the afternoon.

Anyone been by hidden falls today? Lillydale will most likely be the last to go.

Sounds like great ice fishing weather to me. That’s where I’ll be.

Thursday and Friday are supposed to be windier than heck [gusts to 35-40 mph] so maybe it will settle down by the weekend.
