I leave my boat in a slip at Mille Lacs all summer and I need a good wax that will hold up to sun damage. The red fiberglass on the gunnels oxidizes pretty bad giving it a white discoloration. I am currently using the wax in the picture, but it only lasts a couple weeks or even a week with the hot summer sun. Is there a better wax that will last longer? I have tried several, but they all seem the same.

I would look into a procedure called compounding. Every few years, especially on colored gelcoat boats that sit outside, you need to actually use a slightly abrasive product to remove the oxidation not just cover it. I like Meguires one step compound on a rotary buffer. I will attach a good video resource on the topic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jrrPSjWTnc

Thanks for the help. Good video, I think that is where I will start.

Get a boat lift with a top. Run the boat up snug to the top. Keeps the debris off and also a bunch of the sun. Also you won’t have as much of a scum line on the hull.

You can do the same with painted aluminum. Just make sure everything is safe for clearcoat.

Not an option, I am at a resort and there isn’t room between docks for a lift.
