Hello everyone! I have a question on boat trailer tires, I currently have ST215/75D14 tires on. I need a new set, so my question is can I move to a ST205/75R14, or should I stick with the 215 size?

My apologies if this has already been covered.

    Thank you for any input!

It will be fine. The only difference is your trailer will sit a tiny bit lower (like a 1/4″).

What size boat? If it’s decent sized, I’d recommend jumping up to a Load Range E.

More capacity, tougher, stiffer, and usually a higher speed rating.

If your boat is really light they aren’t necessary, and the stiffness will lead to more bounce.

Thank you for the Reply B-Man.

2015 Crestliner 1750 Raptor, 150 Merc. 80lb Terrova. And all kinds of fishing crap. Usually don’t pull it very far (live in the TC).

If you look at the new Goodyear Endurance, the diameter is the same, the width is a little less. Plus, you give-up 160#/tire in capacity.

X’s 2! I put them on my boat trailer 2 years ago now, they are doing quite well.
As to the sizing question, I think it is a trivial measurement difference. I’d be more inclined to tread depth and millage along with speed ratings and load.

Thank you for all the information guys. Many of the reviews I have read recommend the Carlisle, and the Goodyear were coming in a close second. I have decided to go with the Goodyear Endurance.
