I was wondering what sport or boat show in the cities area do you think is best for seeing multiple makes and models of fishing boats? Thought it would be handy to see multiple options under one roof. Looking to upgrade from 1700 Lund Fisherman.

Sounds good, will have to see if we can go and check it out.
Thanks.December 29, 2017 at 8:42 am #1739259“If” you decide to buy during the show, have it in writing that you’ll receive before a set date or penalty to the seller. It was horrible last year with some not getting their boats until late summer.
Dang, good point!
December 29, 2017 at 9:34 am #1739304The problem with the Northwest sports show is that it’s so late, it’s really too late to order a boat at the show and expect it to arrive by fishing opener. If you are going to buy one the dealer has in stock, then it’s no big deal.
I’d say that as long as you are buying one of the popular brands (Lund, Ranger, Alumacraft, etc), just go to the Minneapolis boat show in a couple of weeks. You will get a better price and if you need to order, will have a better chance of getting your boat before opener. The only downside to this show is that you have to sift through all of the pontoons and pleasure boats. But all the major fishing brands are still there.
The only thing the Northwest Sports Show has are some of the less known fishing boats such as Backtroller, etc.

Another forum member and I were talking about ordering new boats and we joked that there’s probably still time to get one ordered… for a late summmer 2020 delivery… If things go well and there are no delays at the factory or sitting at the dealership for “rigging”.
I can’t believe the lead times for new boats. You’d think in the era of modern manufacturing they’d have this figured out a little better, especially given the seasonal nature of the boat business.
Personally, I like the NWSS because it’s more fishing focused and for the most part the jet-set Minnetonka party boaters aren’t there.

December 31, 2017 at 9:57 am #1739916I’ve got a buddy looking for a glass walleye rig. I was surprised to see that Yar-craft and Warrior are not on the menu according to the websi te. Waiting for the NW Sports Show does seem late.
Skeeter Boat Center has an open house next Sat. Jan. 6th. Free parking, free entry, free food, and Free fishing seminars. And the best thing is they are a GREAT dealer. Sales AND service is A1.

I couldn’t agree more Dirk, especially if ordering a boat. In stock units can even be a challenge at times to finalize a rig. Seems like every year there is a new shortage crisis for some needed accessory to finalize a rig. It is always a challenge to under promise & over deliver that time of year. Much like waiting to Christmas shop on Christmas eve and being frustrated by the amount of people in the check out line.
