boat size for Pennington mine pit

    Anyone know how big a boat can you get in the Pennington mine pit and especially the channel to Mahhomen ? It is a little bit of a drive for me, and not sure if I can take the 17′ or do I need the 14′

    You’ll be plenty good with your 17′. It’s a nice ramp and the channel to Mahnomen is big enough. Might be a little shallow to run through with the big motor, but troller is fine. Keep in mind that there is a speed limit on the pits, I believe it’s 10 mph.

    I fished Pennington with a 99″ wide, 18 1/2′ fiberglass boat.
