    Hello all,

I am currently in the process of replacing the floor in my 98′ Crestliner Fishhawk. I was just wondering if any of you have had any experience with this and if you had any advice on the matter. Just want to make sure I have all my bases covered before I get to crazy.

I plan on replacing all the floor with green-treat 3/4″ plywood and then re-carpeting.

    Anything will help!

    Thanks,

    cheers

green treated and aluminum are not compatible . Best go with marine plywood with fiberglass resin

Agreed….I made that mistake before. Use marine treated and get the best coating you can. If you are going to carpet it, I’d suggest removable carpeting. Moisture, dirt, slime get under that carpeting and will rot the floor quicker. Helps if you can snap it out and clean the floor and carpeting easily.

Marine plywood X3. Don’t waste your time if you are not going to put this stuff in. I know it cost more but at least it will be done right.

use marine plywood. Green treated brown treated have a galvanic reaction with aluminum. Its from copper in the pressure treating solution.

Not all rivet tools are equal. The cheaper model doesn’t work so hot for stainless rivets, breaks. One of my learn it the hard way lessons.

If you are dreaming of some new electronics, even in the future, now is the time to make extra runs of wire. 2 years after my new floor I put in led strips and took advantage of extra wire run under the floor.

I have replace my floor in the boat also. Looked into a wood alternative as the time consuming steps in to do it correctly look prety daunting.
Found a website that sells polymer plastic sheathing. Thay actually build and sell pontoons with this sheathing for the deck. Looks like some impressive stuff. Just cut and install.

    A 4’x 8′ 3/4 thick pannel only cost $360. Shipping not included.
Dolphin grey, ivory and tropical tan with each side a different texture.
The draw back its weight is 1/2 pound per square foot more than marine plywood.
That half pound difference was a deal breaker.
