BOAT FISHING BANNED IN MICHIGAN

The Governor of Michigan has recently banned the use of motor boats, jet skis, electric driven boats and similar.

Instead of using science and logic, like limiting the amount of people in a boat, or allowing only family, she has signed this complete motorized boating ban.

Please take a second to sign this petition and stand up for what is right. There is no need to pay or donate.

If 5,000 people can go INTO a Walmart and touch everything……50 people should be able to launch a boat OUTDOORS

    OUTBOARDS DON’T SPREAD DISEASE

Ironic how many times we’ve seen common sense and logic be thrown out the window with this whole coronavirus business. I just pray our drunk neighbors to the east dont follow suit before opener

With such a positive opinion of them, why would you want to go there? Stay home and hope that MN doesn’t follow MI. Or maybe they should?

Have you ever seen a hot shore bite? Much easier to distance in a boat.

I will curious how this plays out, will law enforcement actually enforce it? Meanwhile in San Francisco you can steal legally items under $1,000. Wish I was close to Michigan makes me wanna load my boat up and go for cruise!

Instead of everybody thinking about themselves how about a wide angle view. If we can stop or slow this now we all will be back doing what we enjoy sooner. How about enforcement, is it easier to enforce a total ban or to limit the number of people allowed in a boat? For every guy who does it right some idiot will say…’I have a 18′ boat, 18 divided by 3 means I get to have 3 people.” If you are law enforcement i’m sure you would like to stand and argue with that clown several times a day.

Also much of Michigans population density is very near the water. With limited accesses it’s easy to understand how the access would get overloaded.

Michigan’s Democrat Governor is a woman who is being considered as Biden’s VP. We should all be very concerned about this development.

jester jester Good one. People dropping dead in her state and she is considering what Biden would want. Closing off accesses won’t make one lick of difference in them getting smoked this fall.

What angers me about this development is the clear acknowledgment from the MI DNR that the need for gasoline is a primary reason why this new law was put in place.

If the gas pumps are the issue, then clean the damn gas pumps! That would not only help the anglers/boaters but the essential workers who use those same pumps.

With gas as cheap as it is, the sellers could easily raise prices 5-10 cents a gallon so they could staff up and have a person disinfecting pumps after each use. That would also provide someone with a temporary job.

I’m sure something will have to be done here for ‘opener’ and the busy landings. It’s already a S show at some public docks and popular spots by the looks of it yesterday. Another good reason to not have an ‘opener’ and people would naturally spread out over the course of weeks and go out for the first time of the season when THEY want- not just some made up DNR date to sell licenses. I would hope they close down public landings before a blanket rule against motorized boats.

Maybe, but we have less people concentrated into small area’s. If the opener is border to border it allows lots of people spreading out. The problem with the SIP is you are forcing people to concentrate onto certain lakes and rivers. If the SIP is lifted on the 4th (doubtful) it would ease the pressure in the metro area.

Maybe we could turn our AIS people at the launches here in MN into social distance monitors as well?
They could simply suggest that there are too many people on your pontoon, and then call it in?

I’ll cross that bridge if it does when it does. In the meantime it’s a Michigan problem.

I didn’t see it yesterday or I would have contributed there.

I’m all for slowing the spread down, but closing boat landings to powered vessels is a complete joke.

There is absolutely no reason to do so. Show me the proof.

If my access is chained off, I will cut the lock.

If it’s barricaded off with signs, I will move the signs.

If there is a pile of sand dumped in front of it, I will shovel the sand.

If there are concrete barricades placed, I will hook a Cummins Ram to them and pull the F-ing things out of the way.

Go ahead and arrest me, I’ve never been arrested in my life. I WILL STAND UP AND FIGHT UNNECESSARY ABUSES OF POWER

Fishing by myself or with my family in a boat is NOT going to spread the virus.

    If you’re sick, stay home.

    If you’re old, stay home.

    If you’re comprised, stay home.

If you’re none of the above, follow CDC recommendations and LIVE YOUR LIFE. GO FISHING.

OUTBOARDS DON’T SPREAD THE CORONAVIRUS. The CDC agrees.

    We the people…..

Not we the sheeple…..Don’t let an individual Governor impose unnecessary bans simply because they have the power to do anything they please.

Show me evidence that outboards cause the Coronavirus…..

Have any boat landings been tracked down to be known hotspots???

    They’re OUTSIDE!

YET WAL-MARTS ARE ALLOWED TO ALLOW MILLIONS OF PEOPLE INSIDE THEM EVERYDAY

Open your eyes…..The MI governor is abusing her power

Pile you and your family on your boat and launch now. Stay out until October and you won’t have to deal with anything.

Show me breaking a government order would be in your best interest….it is all about you right?

It has nothing to do with “Me”

It has everything to do with “We” [the people]

“They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.” Benjamin Franklin

Again, I’m all for slowing the spread down with logical resolutions….. banning outboards is not one of them

What’s next?? Where does it end??

It’s people piling into a boat with no common sense that will ruin it for the ones that try to follow the rules in place.

Is it ok to pile 5 buddies into a flat bottom?

Is it ok to tie up pontoons with 16 people and throw a birtday party?

Seen these examples and many more lately so since “some” of our countries finest continue to party on, it is only a matter of time they do the same elsewhere. Pretty sad if you ask me!
