In case any of you are in need of a new Boat cover, they are on clearance at Cabela’s. I’m glad I stalled this past fall on getting one. I brought my boat to my repair guy in November and he asked if it was ok if he stored it there until later in the winter before he worked on it. Heck yeah, one less thing cluttering up my yard and he would have it under a roof. I just wanted it back for Feb fishing Pool 4.

He called telling me it was about done so I had an excuse to run to Cabela’s and pick one up. I believe they were originally $149 or $159 and I got it for $114 I think. No, this is not a custom fit snap on cover but it’s everything I need. Picked up the boat tonight and put the cover on in the dark in below zero weather and I’m very happy.

So if your current cover is tearing from the mounds of snow this year, nows your chance.

Thanks for the heads up. I get about a year out of these covers and it’s time for a new one.

The 600 Denier covers sold under the Cabelas label are very well made IMO. waytogo

I’m in the market for a new cover this year. Any advice on the size? I know with some you need to get one that’s a foot or so larger than your boat. I have a 17 ft Nitro bass boat and am wondering if the 17ft will work or should go with a the 18?

I asked the guy at Cabelas and he was spot on. He asked if I have a bow mount trolling motor, which I do, so he said for a 16′ boat you want a 17′ cover. the length is absolutely perfect. Mine is a V Hull tiller, no console, so that may be different then their model for bass or console boats. I don’t know if they automatically compensate for the trolling motor on a Bass Boat. Probably better with an extra foot, that’s only 6″ on either end if you need to take up the slack. If they have a competent rep at Cabelas when you go, maybe he’ll have a good answer.

I would think that there is a little flexibility in length with the center pole height making up the difference for a tight fit.
