I need mine replaced in my 1890 Warrior tiller. I did a search for old posts and the newest one was from 2011. The boat and I are in Stillwater, MN. Thanks for any help.

Are you committed to going back with carpet or open to other materials?

I’d scrap the carpet and do the hard surface instead. The polymer-vinyl coating is so much easier to maintain and clean.

September 2, 2020 at 10:53 am #1969998Thanks Jon. I will check into that.
The 3 quotes I have gotten so far are all around $4000 for an 19′ boat. That ain’t gonna happen.
September 2, 2020 at 2:05 pm #1970058Another option I’ve heard discussed but never seen in person is having the carpet removed and then have a light colored spray in truck bed liner applied. Sounds like a great idea.

September 2, 2020 at 6:10 pm #1970107I did spray in truck liner in my last boat. Tuffy 1760 and really liked it. It came as roll on product but we tapped off boat and sprayed it on. The texture was nice even in winter with ice. Had it 4 years before getting rid of boat and it held up nice.

What color? And what did you spray it on? What material is the floor?
DTWPosts: 298September 2, 2020 at 8:05 pm #1970132Vinyl is the way to go. A cheap option is snap in vinyl sections with padding. Very nice and its really not that obvious. The padding is super comfortable when casting all day or in bare feet with the family. The padded vinyl sections will have a binding on the edges giving it a nice look.

I’ve been looking into seadek also and from what I’ve seen on youtube I think it’s going to be the way to go. I got the kit from them that includes all things needed to do a template then send that in and they lazer cut and send back.
AS far as cost? won’t know till I send in the template.
good Luck!
markSeptember 3, 2020 at 7:27 am #1970228Have you checked with Warrior? Maybe they could sell & send you a precut piece.
September 3, 2020 at 7:37 am #1970230I used herculiner truck bed liner and I used grey color. The grey got somewhat hot in summer but would bet the black would get really hot. Used a sprayer used to paint cars.
September 3, 2020 at 8:55 pm #1970475Ive looked into Seadek. It was absurdly expensive, although it’s very nice.
The spray-on liner sounds interesting. I wonder how it’d hold up on boat lockers where carpet would normally brush against carpet? Would it chip?
LarsonPosts: 7September 7, 2020 at 3:46 pm #1971034I had the carpet replaced by Glass Boat Monkey Garage in Elk River,….You can find him on facebook,…..Did a great job.
September 7, 2020 at 6:33 pm #1971074I’d go with a nice avocado shag. Just don’t drop a Shad Rap on it.
If you don’t want the shag I’d consider vinyl. I haven’t had an issue with mine getting too hot or slippery.

B-manPosts: 5817September 7, 2020 at 7:35 pm #1971083How bad is it?
A pressure washer can bring a lot of life back to carpet if it isn’t completely shot. Worn edges can be trimmed out with bare or anodized aluminum for a lot less than a full hired-out replacement.
If it’s just flattened out with some worn edges here and there I’d pressure wash it and leave it.
I think putting carpet in a boat should be illegal, but if I were buying a used boat “that should” have carpet in it, I would want carpet simply for resale purposes.
Replacing it isn’t rocket surgery. If you or your wife can wrap a present you can re-carpet a boat.
