I have both in my Pro V. The carpet snaps in. I never take it out except to pressure wash it and dry it. If you don’t believe vinyl is slippery… go up to Rainy River in March! I’ll keep my carpet.

I’ll revive this one last time to post the finished product. If anybody would like more details and photos of this project I’ll start a separate thread and go into detail.

Thanks guys, it was a bunch of work, but I’m happy with how it turned out.

Oh no doubt that would be a lot of work. I watched the video where Jay Siemens did his boat and that is not something I would undertake myself. LOL

Cody that looks great. I wouldn’t mind more details – in fact, I would be willing to record video of you doing a similar install on my boat – won’t charge you a thing! Just for the betterment of IDO. jester

Reviving this thread. I need to redo the rear deck on my boat. Was going to use carpet like the rest of it but interested in what Cody did. I can check out YouTube later, but what do you do on the edges of the wood? Does it just wrap around or is there an endcap piece you can buy?

I put aluminum angle on over the plywood and then brought the turf up to the edge of the angle and trimmed it flush. If you are interested in photos and detail let me know. I also have at least one full sheet of turf left over and a full stick of the aluminum trim, I’d let that go really cheap if you are interested in it.

Thank you for the offer. I’m going to just stick with carpet right now until I redo it all. I’m only redoing a small back deck at the moment to fix some rotten wood. The previous owner had the live well spray bar directed up and running against the unfinished wood. doah
