Outing 4″, rain first.
Do the strobe lights shine during a blizzard?

I’m sure the ice castle boys will have em tweaking out all weekend long on Winnie! I’ll report back.
MNdrifterPosts: 1671January 13, 2021 at 8:25 pm #2005795I will be driving up in it Friday afternoon as well. Just go slow. You’ll get there. In the back of my mind I just tell myself that I don’t want to ruin the trip. Just pace myself. Don’t push my limitations. It would have to get pretty bad to be impassable.
January 13, 2021 at 9:02 pm #2005808I didn’t buy those snow tires to stay home! I actualy enjoy the thrill of it when not pulling a trailer. But it can be exhausting driving hyper focused for hours at a time. The relief of making it is a reward in itself. I’ll be heading up Fri.
January 14, 2021 at 7:46 am #2005849Two years ago on a trip to LOW the rumble strip on 169 on the way to Mille Lacs let me know where I was on the road several times. Almost whiteout. Stayed in Grand Rapids. A buddy who was 20 minutes ahead of me when leaving the cities had clear roads all the way. Next morning more snow to LOW.
On the way home, snow and wind until Elk River. This was the storm that stranded several on LOW and Red. 650 miles and all but 100 in snowstorms. I love snow storms. Just take it easy and you’ll get there.January 14, 2021 at 7:55 am #2005854This looks like another very average snow event for most of Southern MN with 5-9″, and a small blemish of a few inches for other areas. If people slow down and take their time, there should not be major disruptions. It’s crazy how much more impact a Winter storm has today despite the better road maintenance, better vehicles and tires, etc. People’s ability to focus, be defensive, and take their time while driving has not kept up with the times – rather it has eroded.
January 14, 2021 at 8:06 am #2005859It was raining here for a while, just turned to a freezing rain and now its snow. My driveway was a skating rink.
January 14, 2021 at 8:08 am #2005860Main thing is don’t overdrive your vision. Be sure you leave time to react to what your eyes see. Be sure you wipe off your rear lights every time you stop.

This and for crying out loud put your headlights on! So many people dont do this when its snowing and you cant see them from behind. Too many rely on the daytime running lights, but that doesnt help from behind.
January 14, 2021 at 8:29 am #2005870I love fishing in these conditions. Bring it on. Keeps more wheel houses off our local lakes. As much as I wish I could drive to my spots I’m also extremely pleased that we can’t
January 14, 2021 at 8:56 am #2005879I almost always still go. I have driven to Red and LOW in some crazy s%$#! Usually my buddies try not to watch to road. We are supposed to head up to Leech Friday after work. Looks like it might be dicey.

Same here in Downtown Mpls. A lot of wet stuff, not all snow.

What gets me the most is I see vehicles that I know dang well have automatic lights and everyone else’s are on which leaves to to believe they are purposefully turning them OFF. I know some take a lower level of light to kick in (my silverado turns on in way brighter conditions than my wife’s lincoln), but I’m talking conditions where clearly every model out there would be kicking on. I give them the same treatment as I do those who refuse to dim their hi beams.
January 14, 2021 at 2:39 pm #2006022Sippin on a cup Joe, listening to a little Blues, watching snow fall, wondering if I going to be punching holes later today.

January 14, 2021 at 2:57 pm #2006034Just started here, coming straight down, small flakes. Almost looks like rain.
January 14, 2021 at 4:12 pm #2006055I tried snow blowing and it came out like ketchup. So I had to shovel 3 inches of it instead. It’s the heavy wet back breaking kind. Like shoveling pennies
January 14, 2021 at 4:23 pm #2006060That deck looks like it needs a shovel.
What ya got going Glenn? I’m thinking of having a shoveling party tonight.

Got 2+ in Outing.Sippin a cup a joe at 2:30 in the afternoon? You just get outta bed?
I’ve cracked a beer open. I drilled a number of fruitless holes yesterday.
Just sippin some brew and looking out at the milky lakeview.

Ketone diet no carbs
Gotta lose my covid 19 (lbs)January 14, 2021 at 6:33 pm #2006082No carbs, doesn’t even sound like a good idea.
You know, it ain’t to bad. There is quite a bit you can eat to keep you satisfied plus the result are almost instant. Plus the motivator is pretty good, I just looked in the mirror.

hartridgePosts: 74January 14, 2021 at 6:39 pm #2006086I went on the no carb diet when I retired last April. Down 27 lbs. and feel great. Not true no carb diet as I still drink beer and bourbon. Plenty of great no carb/low carb food out there to eat. 13 lbs. to go…
