Stores in maple grove are starting to think of shutting er down. It’s pretty gnarly out here.

Started my Xmas shopping at about noon today, got 2 people left on my list that will probably be taken care of at a liquor store on my way home.

Time to get cozy and pour a stiff one. Been a long year, worth celebrating while mother nature shows us her fun side woot

We are currently receiving a nice coating of ice. My 12k pound van was sliding in areas. Others on the road were acting like it is just another sunny day.

Even the logging trucks are smart enough to stay off the roads up here.

Just got the boat loaded up before it hit. Wasn’t a mile from the ramp before the snow and wind hit. That is my son in the rig ahead of me. Just happened to pull onto 52 right behind him. He was supposed to run to Iowa and back today. Glad they turned he around early. If you got cut off by a guy towing a boat in the north metro today that was me just making room for my son to change lanes.

Who’s that creeper doll looking dude in your boat Mike! Lol I see you were drinking some Pabst too.

Just got home from running to Cambridge. It was terrible to say the least. 15 mph tops. Couldn’t see anything past my hood. Just go slow.

Duluth is getting whacked right now. The Blatnik Bridge is closed. I would imagine driving on that in this wind would suck.

Horrible here. My FW drove from Duluth to Cloquet and it was brutal. Winds rolling at 25-40 here outside Cloquet now.
    Glad we’re all home now.

Stay safe everyone. I was out until 3:30 for things I had to do. Got home and stayed home. There was zero visibility then.

I thought only a Walmart shop-a-holic would catch that! whistling

I only pulled in to the lot to snap a couple pics.

So? The things you had to do were taking pics of snow in Walmart parking lots?

    Ha…ha,ha lol

And no, no “Walmart shop-a-holic” for those of us now living in Aitkin County.

There aren’t any. Best we can find here anything close is Dollar General.

This is where we buy our clean underwear. blush

The FW had an ultra sound at St. Lukes and we had to drive back to Cloquet. There were a few periods where I’m pretty sure visibility went from 0 to the negatives…it was awful. Had to stop 4 or 5 times to de-ice the wipers.

Do they only give it male names? And judge how strong it is by measuring in inches?…I hope Harold is well hung, I’d like to get the snowmobile out.

Is there much accumulation? I’ve been checking traffic cams in Virginia and Cotton and doesn’t look like much. I’m wondering how much snow is actually on the ground in Tower/Embarrass/Ely area because my road won’t be plowed yet tomorrow. Would it be a waste of time trying to get there without it being plowed?

I dunno Andy, I think I’ll just ride out the storm. wink

EPG I saw there’s a ice carousel going on Roosie, go check it out after a few cocktails and let us know! It’s puking snow in EP right now.

LOL, I just saw that on the Outing FB page.
I’ll have to check it out this weekend, hopefully it’s not too frozen in. -8 up there this morning,

Hard one to gauge, some areas 2″ others 22″.

If I had to average I’d say 7″

Here we go again. Bad timing for folks heading out for the weekend. I never change my plans due to snowy roads but know I should. I have trailered on bad roads so much it seems easy without one but I can’t control other drivers which is what worries me the most. What do others do when winter storms hit when they have plans?

Depends on the plans. Work, stay home, fishing go. devil

Actually now that I’m retired I’ll wait till it gets better. But again depends on what the plan was.
