I know I posted about this before when it was only up for discussion – but now blaze pink is a thing. I was at Fleet Farm the other day and saw a rack of blaze pink outerwear with “Ladies” tags all over it. It disappoints me because I fear this could mean the opportunities to find blaze orange in women’s sizes will only continue to get slimmer. I don’t agree that blaze pink is only available for women – this creates a divide in the market. Why would manufacturers make women’s sizes in orange AND pink… they’re just going to make them in pink now. Personally, I don’t want to be singled out as a woman when I’m hunting. I’m just a hunter and I’m going to wear my blood- and dirt-stained orange.

Is “blaze” pink even legal? I guess I haven’t check that out but unless something has changed, you still need to wear orange. I’m guessing this is for fashion and not hunting????
7th bullet point down on new for this year…….

Sharon, here is an excerpt from an article when this was first signed in Wisconsin…
“Advocates for women hunters, though, say the pink agenda is misguided and even insulting. Women who hunt do so for food, fun, or empowerment—not because of fashion. Sarah Ingle, president of the Women’s Hunting and Sporting Association in Wisconsin, says, “We felt like it was demeaning to us.”Aaron KalbererPosts: 373November 2, 2017 at 11:54 am #1724977I would think that if your decision to hunt comes down to what clothing colors you can legally hunt in, that you are not really a hunter. If blaze pink is to get more ladies in the field lets get real here. The women in the field today that are rocking the blaze orange are hunters through and through and I just do not think a gal will say “you mean to tell me I can use pink to hunt in! lets go get a license!”.

That’s part of the problem here – all of the pink clothing said “ladies” on it. So presumably, the cut will be made to fit women more than men. Why would you rather wear pink?

I was kind of wondering about that post, but with a name “Merican Eagle”, I guess I couldn’t be sure of the gender for him or her? Didn’t want to offend…

I’m a different kind of weird, Sharon…
Maybe some hunters on public land will avoid the guy running through the field with a gun wearing bright pink, which would give me more space. Gotta look for positives in life I suppose…

Should I change to MericHIMeagle?

I suppose it should be no more weird of you to want to wear pink than it is for me to not want to wear pink. Double standards LOL…
