Blaze orange requirements

Since there is a statewide firearms youth season Oct 17-20, I am assuming that the standard deer firearms blaze orange requirements are required while in the field on these days? The regulations under this section indicate “Blaze orange/pink requirements apply to all hunters, trappers and adult mentors in areas open during this season.” Before this year, only certain zones were open to the youth season but since the season is now statewide, if you are out there hunting small game, trapping, working on deer stands, etc anywhere statewide, the full blaze orange requirements will be in play. I was going to go work on some deer stands that weekend but I think I’ll pass because I don’t feel like gearing up in my deer hunting blaze orange apparel. I know there are exceptions to this rule like when waterfowl hunting in a stationary location but if you plan to be out in the woods or fields during these four days, make sure you wear your full deer hunting blaze orange. If not, you risk getting shot by a careless teenager or getting cited by a CO.

Does not seem too hard to get a blaze vest or shirt and ball cap if you want to go afield.

I doubt you have to get suited up in all your deer hunting blaze orange apparel. Id be willing to bet you see more safety incidents with adults rather than your “careless teenager”.

A cheap vest and hat from Walmart has always kept me in the woods during youth season. It’s actually a fairly quiet weekend as far as gun seasons go, and the deer are usually starting to move a bit more.

And make sure you have your side arm on you for protection of those common wolf and bear attacks.
