Anyone fishing out there? Looking at that one for this weekend. Parking I guess is pretty limited. Lots of smalls is also what I’ve heard. What else?

They’ve been fishing out there since the week after thanksgiving or so. First bay to freeze usually. So yeah it gets hit hard

Limited parking and smalls like you said, wouldn’t be my first or 5th choice. Good luck

30 other bays to fish most with no people on them, that’s where I would start.

Anyone know the ice thickness on any of Tonka’s big bays (Crystal, Smith, Brown)? Are there SxS or trucks out there yet?

Fished Black Lake open water on November 18. Tons of crappies but we tossed back a lot of smalls. Did keep a limit of 9-11 inchers.

People have been out of Cty 15 on Browns with wheelers since the pre-Xmas snowfall, nothing bigger that I’ve seen when driving by.

I’ve only fished the upper lake on foot this season but I had 10″-13″ on Sat plus saw a 3/4 ton with a 20′-22′ wheelhouse go out of Phelps and south around the islands.

I’d be surprised if there’s less than 9″ on those lower lake bays, probably won’t be long with big houses in those areas. Good luck if you go.
