I have headed up to Black Duck the past few seasons from Rochester and have put together a good batch of spots on the lake. With all that I am seeing on Red I am guessing that many of those spots will not be plowed out to this year. I am trying to put together a few lakes in the area to try in case we can only walk out. Is there any one who fishes these lakes in the winter. I have tried the bait shop and my connections down in Rochester but no luck. If any one can give some insight into driving capabilities currently on any of these lakes or if Medicine and Pimushe lake are worth walking on to blind to find fish it would be greatly appreciated. We are staying on Blackduck and I know they have a few roads plowed currently. We will be heading up on Wed night. Thanks for any information.

Talked to my dad in Bemidji last night, they have 3+ ft of snow. Lots of slush on area lakes. Those smaller lakes, unless its a local plowing out to only his house, there are no plowed roads.

Are you just looking for panfish? If so, send me a PM and I can give you a couple lakes to try.

Usually the guys at Timberline are pretty helpful too.
