After spending the last 5 years getting to know the Mississippi out of La Crosse, I recently moved to the Eau Claire area. I’ll miss being 5 miles away from the big river but excited to be in Muskie territory and the challenges that come with learning how to fish new species and areas. Had one hell of a going-away season and will be back as much as possible! As always, if you’re ever in the area and want to get out I’m more than happy to make room.

I went to college at Winona State and miss the beauty of that area so much. I didn’t get to fish from a boat a lot back then, but soaked a lot of crawlers from shore. I go back to visit every chance I get. I live 3 hours away now, but if I ever pull the trigger on a boat, I will be making several trips to that area every summer.

Good luck with your new digs and while it’s not the beauty of Bluff Country, Eau Claire still isn’t terribly far from the river!

Once the Ol’ River connects with you, it doesn’t let go.

Good times in your next chapter!

Moved to Eau Claire from LaCrosse 5 years ago for work. Now that I retired I am moving to Prairie Du Chien which is the area I grew up in. Can’t get river out of my blood. Eau Claire is a nice town, and you will enjoy it.

Had the pleasure of fishing with Tom this year on the river and learned a lot. I will have to admit that river frustrates me but Tom consistently put big fish in the boat. Good luck with your new ventures and hope to have the chance to share a boat with you again. PS I have been diagnosed as one of those long haulers after that willow cat sting jester

Lived in E.C. for 17 years. The Chippewa and Eau Claire Rivers both offer great fishing. Alma is an hour away. Some of my best fishing came on the Dells Pond portion of the river in the fall. Fishing in town all by yourself and catching numerous walleye, musky, smallys and crappy is tough to take. A bit of a learning curve down there but that’s why so few fish it. Send me a p.m. if your interested and I’ll get your curve flattened out a bit…..
