At a Landing jester Sorry I could not resist. I cant help you much as I’ve only fished it in the summertime. What are you mostly fishing? I would call Sportman’s Cove in Webster prior to your trip. They have a weekly report ( recording ) at Phone # 605-345-2468. I would also stop in to their bait store for Info. They do a excellent job of getting you started in good area’s. Real friendly group of people there.

I know both Blue Dog and Rush were both hot at times this last summer for Walleye’s. That’s the great thing about that Webster/Waubay area – There almost always seems to be a lake that something is biting good. I always hear of the Great Perch fishing in that area, but can not ever seem to get into a good bite for them out there. There is a lake North of Waubay that is on the reservation that you may need a special sticker to fish that had some real nice perch back a few years ago. It may have been Piyas lake I think. Good luck and give us a report when you get back. I see we are neighbors. I work in St Cloud and live in Sartell.

Just moved to Sartell in August. Do you remember the lake name?

The Perch lake? I think it was Piyas lake North of Waubay.

It’s hit and miss, but I’ve done well in recent years finding a good sharp inside turn away from the other folks. I often do better in the evening/over night, and head to lakes like Pickerel, Enemy Swim, or some mentioned above during the day for panfish/perch.

Getting right on the right piece of structure on that lake is key. Me and a friend hammered fish, and a couple big ones on a spot like that. Some other guys we knew were 50 yards away on a rock pile and caught next to nothing.

    My amateur observations.

What depth were you fishing? Probably looking at the south/west side of the lake then.

I think you will find some good info in this episode from last year.
