That’s hilarious. One of the rarest sights for me and you have them IN YOUR HOUSE! jester
That’s why I want them or buntings to nest in my yard so I can see them a lot.
I did have the pleasure of watching a pair of Orioles make a nest super close to our deck. Watched the whole process right down to the hatchlings leaving the nest. That was a rare treat.

It was nowhere near the Miracle Whip scarecrow I put by the garden. That stuff scares that crap out of everything. I might even take the fence down now.

No orioles or HB’s yet. Had a few goldfinches, haven’t been able to keep them around for years. I had cardinals all winter but seems like lots more all of a sudden, some look very young.

Put out oriole feeder yesterday and within 15 minutes had a female there. Today have had 2 pairs feeding throughout the rain. (central Wi)

This morning I saw an oriole by the jelly feeder (that doesn’t have jelly yet) so I put out the hummingbird feeders and an orange and 30 minutes later had 4 orioles. A few hours later I saw a scarlet tanager, and a rose breasted gross-beak on the suet feeder and then first hummingbird of the year flew by the empty jelly feeder and buzzed them both. Hot action in the south metro.

We have an indigo bunting hanging around today eating cracked sunflower. First time we’ve seen one.

Had a robin build a nest underneath the deck on the supports. Looked yesterday and seen 3 eggs!

Now if this was a species that people didn’t like they would be blaming Global Warming for blowing it off it’s migratory flight and taking over the spotted owl nesting area in pacific northwest.

I live in a first ring suburb. I get a lot of Sparrows and other common “urban” birds but not a lot of variety. Today however was a banner day. 10 different species so far, including Gold Finches, Rose Breasted Grosbeaks, Chipping Sparrows, Red Bellied Woodpecker, and Catbirds. Quite a show looking out this kitchen window this morning.

EDIT: I’ve lived in this house since 1983 and today for the first time I had a Brown Thrasher in the yard.

Orioles just showed up here this morning. Have not seen any hummers yet. I might try to fill the Humming Bird feeders and put out some jelly in the morning. See how long before Yogi finds them on the deck.

House wrens showed up here a couple days ago. Not chattering at everything yet, so still settling in.

I finally got Orioles in Brainerd about a week ago but the site was weird and wouldn’t accept my post. I had 4 orioles at once this morning. Sure are pretty!

Stayed in Northome this weekend and the Orioles were there.
Saw 5 magpies over the weekend. I always get a kick out of seeing them.

I’ve had Grape jelly and oranges out for a week or so now. So far no Orioles yet. Got the hummingbird feeder loaded and hung yesterday. Think I saw a wren yesterday so the bird house should have some activity soon.
