I have a 2013 WX2190 and am thinking about putting a Bimini top on it. Who has done this and what do you recommend? I was on Skeeters website and didn’t find it to be very user friendly. Likes and dislikes?

    Thanks in advance. Brent

Brent, Skeeter does not offer a top. We have had several folks use Canvass Craft and or their local custom shops successfully.

I don’t have a Skeeter but purchased my Bimini from Overtons. I was very impressed with the quality. Just put in model of boat and it gives you the tops that they have that will work. Price seemed pretty reasonable as well.

Here is mine. Custom done at North country Canvas in Crystal. Love it. Had a snap-on cover made at the same time. Have side curtians. Didn’t get the back made but the zippers are ther if I ever want too. Also I added a set of bars allowing me to store the top bagged up in a forward position. That way it is right over the windshield. Can walk under it and it is out of the way for both the front and rear when casting. I don’t believe I have a photo of it stored in that position.

I was a boat show a couple of weeks ago and there was a Skeeter Solara there with a bimini top. I really liked when it was open. I am not sure if I like the way it stores although it is not in the way kind of. The Wx2060 has a 99″ beam and the Solara 189 has a 100″ beam don’t see why it would work.

The crew at Canvas Craft, Otsego MN, mentioned they’ve made some which come apart for stowing in a rod locker. Might be worth checking into the option to get it completely out of the way when not in use.

The new Solara boat by Skeeter comes standard with a Bimini Top. I did call them for a price for WX2060 and it was a little over $1500. I call our Skeeter dealer and asked for the price on one for the Solera 189 and it was a little over $1200. The beam on a WX2060 is 99″ on a WX2190 101″ and the Solera 189 is 100″ one would think it would fit. So I measured up the two boats and the Solera is a little wider inside than a WX2060 83″ to 78″. I don’t know what a WX2190 would measure. I would like one and I like the one on the Solera because I don’t think it will be in the way as much as the other ones but I am having sticker shock.

I had got my custom top and snap-on cover for just over $1700.
