It just blows my mind that guys like this can get away with crap. Big Bill plead guilty to wasting elk in Wyoming while filming a show. Shot a cow “by mistake” and left it to rot. Even told the camera man to hide it. Fortunately, WY is part of the Interstate Wildlife Violator Compact, so Bill is banned for 2 years of hunting in 40 something states. I just don’t think 2 years is even close to what it should be.

I could be sympathetic to someone desperate for feeding their family, that is utilizing the animal. Doesn’t make it right, but that’s why we have a variance in punishments. This is just a clear case of gross greed

Dont know the man but sounds like justice is served. 40 state hunting ban has to hhurt a guy making his living filming hunting shows

Agree Randy there should be larger fines for people doing this.

He’ll just hunt one of his other multi-thousand acre properties or go to Argentina/New Zealand/Mexico/Africa and shoot stuff off-camera. He is incorrigible and will just have his sons film their hunts for the next couple seasons. There is no real punishment in this case.

Readig the article, he “accidently” killed a calf while trying to kill a bull. $23,000 in fines for a single calf seems plenty large to me?

Agree though – he is a disgrace. An accidental kill is one thing, leaving it to rot is another…..

According to the article I read, he purposely shot the cow elk, and then when the bruiser elk he was after presented itself he shot that too. With only one tag they tried to hide the cow. Revoked hunting privileges, a 23k fine, and ending whatever television career he had seems sufficient to me. But yeah what a disgrace to hunters everywhere.

What happened to the camera man?

You would think he’d have had much greater concern for the reputation of his family and Wildgame Innovations. But when the TV cameras are rolling and a kill HAS to be made to make the show, this is the kind of entitled, self-important guy who shows his true colors and throws ethics out the window.

I don’t think $23k in fines will teach a guy like this much of a lesson. Hopefully, the fact that it could well sink his infomercial TV show and put a big dent in his brand will be more painful than the fine.

Him and Jeff “four shot” Foiles are getting off easy. This is just another case of arrogance, all in the pursuit of money with blatant disregard to the passion that drove them to where they are today…

When the Jeff Foiles case broke, I couldn’t believe the number of charges they were putting on him, then to drop all but ONE? Pathetic…
