Bilge pump on my 1999 tracker targa only works if you manually flip the float. Does not work from the console when flipping the switch. Curious if this is a bad switch or bad wiring or what could be the issue. The pump didn’t kick on when filled with water either only when dry and lifted by hand. Any information is helpful thank you.
No way to truly know until you put a multimeter on it and check all of your components. But based on your description you may have two issues, as the float switch should have zero affect on the manual switch. And if they are all original components it may just be time to replace them all (switch, float switch, pump) anyway, as after 18 years parts do go bad and anything related to safety has a limited lifespan and should be updated regularly.
