Bigfork / Littlefork Rivers?

Looks like finally a warming trend is coming down the pipes near baudette. My friends and I are headed up the weekend of the 28th for sturgeon and pike fishing. I’ve been screwed by the bigfork and little fork breaking loose in previous years and I’m hoping this warming trend breaks it and gets it out of the way before we arrive. I’ve only been up there a couple times and I’m curious if anyone has a clue when they might go. Does it usually take just a few warm days to break them up or does look like I’m in for some chocolate milk?

I’d guess you’re better off hoping they don’t break before your trip. Last year they took about 7-10 days for the river to clean up after they broke.

That’s what I’m afraid of. Hopefully backwater bays and stuff open up so we can at least go for pike. Just gonna have to say a prayer I guess.

Sounds like the Little Fork broke yesterday.

I think they have let lose by looking at the gauges on USGS.

Still not bad enough to effect the pike fishing near warroad.
