Big Creek Ice Fishing

Spent Sunday afternoon on Big Creek. I fished the Lost Lake area and set up in 14′ of water near timber. I was marking fish and using the Aquaview saw lots of bass, crappies, and gills. Couldn’t make them bite though. I tried everything. The fish would come up to the the bait and take a look but would bite. I used minnows, Swedish Pimples tipped with a waxie or minnow head, and small ice jigs with waxies. The ice is about 6″ and growing daily. I checked with many guys in the area and there were very few fish caught.

I heard the same report for back there. I do know of a few catching walleyes and crappies off the west ramp on the main lake. Have to be right off the main channel in about 40′ of water. Has been mainly a late afternoon and early evening bite.
