Big Walleye Ice Line

    Hi All,

    Just curious what everyone’s favorite line for ice fishing big walleyes. Have used 8 lb Fireline Crystal in the past but always struggle with water retention and freezing. Will be doing a Lake Winnipeg trip this year and curious what others’ setups are for big ice eyes on Winnipeg, Erie, etc. Thanks!

    8lb Sufix 832 double uni’d to a 2-3′ fluoro leader. If you think freeze up will be an issue Ive also done just fine on Erie spooled with 8 and 6 lb fluorocarbon.

    Wetsleeve is spot on! The only thing I might add is a small swivel between the Sufix and fluoro. Especially if you are using a Spoon or Rap.
