I am from Iowa planning on a trip to Big Trout lake. I was wondering about the ice conditions. We will be walking any info would be grand. I looked but couldn’t find a current thread. Thank you.

I am assuming that you are referring to “Big Trout” near Crosslake. For walk out you should be just fine. I drove by the public landing the other day and there was no open water. It is a mighty big lake to do a lot of exploring on foot. I have walked out many time but not this year.
