Heading out to Big Stone this weekend. Any reports on what’s going on?
I usually hit the north end past Mallard.

You might hit it pretty good, although the weather this week isn’t helping. Water temps were coming up over last weekend and it sounded like a few fish were being found shallow. We tried it on Friday and it was a bust. We fished both sides north of Mallard and Hartford. Temp that day ranged from 39.5 to 43. Mid to upper 40’s is best. Will be heading out again soon, so it’d be great to hear a report on how it goes for you.

The lake just came up darn near a foot so I am sure that cooled the water off. Could be tough. I’ve been out a few times the last week and it was never a very good bite.

If the sun is out saturday and sunday like currently forecast, that should get the males fired back up mid-late afternoon.

Here’s my Big Stone report for Saturday. Started out at Mallard point and tried areas from there up to Hiawatha Beach. Fished both sides of the lake found nothing going. Not one single bite in 6 hours. So worked are way south down past Salmonson Point and around 4:30 went over to the SD side and found a small under point that gave up 5 nice walleyes in short period of time in about 7 feet of water. Water temps were 47 -48 tops and full sun all day. Nice to get back on the water.
