Leaving Thursday for Canada. I’ve got to fill a few reels with New line. Curious what others here use for BIG pike and Muskie. Is Power Pro still the best choice or is the something else that now works better. Also what Lb. test would you use. Mostly going to be throwing bulldogs. A fair amount of the fish may be over the 40″ mark with some pushing 50″. Would 50 or 65 Lb. get the job done?

Power Pro seems to be the line of choice. I agree with G, have your drag set properly and 40lb. should handle anything you run into.

    I run 30# fireline. Caught 40# lakers, 20# + pike. Have fun.

I thought you were going to be up there the same time as us. Did your trip get pushed back? Not looking forward to the 16+ Hr. drive but am the fishing

I’m an aberration, still using mono. 20# Trilene XT or Suffix siege. No musky for me, just pike.

Where are you that 40″ is a regular thing? I might need to add a new lake to my bucket list. Please PM if you don’t want to put it out there publicly.

For muskie, I use 80# 832. Really depends on your reel capacity.

Yep, we pushed back 4 days… conflict with prior group in our cabin and flights.
