Same here. And I have bought some more tackle I can’t fit into my already full tackle box. Lots of good stuff. Fun to learn about more bites. I like when James talks about what they tried that didn’t work and how they transitioned to what did work.

These recent episodes have been great. I’d love to see an episode where the guys breakdown heavily pressured lakes in the summer.

I’m probably like a lot of guys….I get a family summer vacation once a year on a popular up north lake. Tons of people, warm water, big lakes with structure. With a couple of hours a days to fish walleye what’s the ideal locations and presentations.

Btw, I just got skunked after an hour on pelican by Nisswa.

Yes I agree with this completely. Show us how to do it on the local chisago lakes. Some where a ton of people fish and i often feel defeated when walleye fishing.

    Great shows.

That warrior is a really sweet looking rig.

30 seconds to feed makes my toes curl. I start on the opposite end, set the hook 5-7 seconds and then increment up if needed. But to each their own.

    Pat –
Why are Chubs preferred over suckers? I have a couple buddies that recently went out with guides, one the Brainerd the other in Alex both fished with chubs and they were using the exact set-up you just showed.

In my opinion (just an opinion) its that they are wild caught bait. They seem much more hardy and lively to me and perform better on the hook when they see something that wants to eat them.

    Because of the hormoanal imbalance

I get chubs just thinking about suckers.

On a serious note, I think chubs tend to be more lively on the hook, and stay alive longer in general. I think your best bet is to always get a chub when you can.

I’ve tried both and creek chubs / red tails just seem to work a lot better. They swim around a lot more and don’t get lazy would be one reason. Another reason could be that walleyes just like them better.
