Big & J Review

I picked up some Big & J BB2 and some liquid luck at Cabelas the other day to give it a try with some of my trail cameras. I didn’t have a problem getting deer to the camera in the first place, but I wanted to see if it boosted my deer visits. The land I hunt is right on the river, with a lot of adjacent land which is a refuge, and I was more interested to see if I could pull deer from further away compared to just corn. I have no affiliations with Big & J, just wanted to see how it worked.

I mixed about #25 of corn with a bladder of liquid luck, and another site with #25s of corn with half a bag of BB2. The long story short is they hammered both….25#s of corn was lasting about 6 or 7 days where the same amount with the Big & J mixed in was lasting about 3 or 4. I’m not sure if I’ll use it in conjunction with corn again because it went too fast, and I’d rather not be restocking constantly.

The next go round I’m going to use the liquid luck on an old rotted stump, and straight in the dirt to get a more telling analysis.

Unfortunately somebody decided they needed the SD card out of one of the cameras more than I did, so I set the test up again but this time with another trail camera about 15 feet up in another tree. I’m hoping to get the perp more so than to actually see a deer. Grinds my gears….

Anybody else give this stuff a try or have any other recommendations?

    Ben,
BB2 is pretty unreal what it can do. I would say that it has maybe a little more than doubled my number of photos taken vs straight corn or other products. Ive tried out alot of products. I used to be hunting manager at a retail shop and would always put out the year old stuff. It was free and I liked to document the preferred products.
Poured the liquid luck on a stump they were chewing the stump the next day. Just like piece of rawhide for a dog. The videos are pretty funny. But they just cant stop themselves.
Grab youself a 25# BB2 solid block next time and top it off with corn or just a sprinkle of the loose BB2 for a longer run time. It lasts a long time.

Another one of my favorite corn additives is Wildgame Innovations Feeder Fat. Put this with some corn and watch the deer stand up on their back legs and box each other over who gets the most. Pretty good stuff.

“Besides having the taste that whitetail prefer, Acorns have a very high fat content of 17%! Deer naturally know that they need fat in their diet, especially before the rut and fall/winter months. Acorn Rage Feeder Fat is a mega concentrated HI-FAT pellet designed to bring corn to the next level of attracting more whitetail to your feeder while giving them a nutritional charge of extra FAT.”

    Try it out for yourself.
    Good Hunting,
    MD

Good Call on the block. I think I would go broke just putting out the bags. 1.2k pictures in 5 days on a 1 min delay. Instead of coming to the bait at least 24 hours after I put the bait out, they were there 40 minutes after I left. I also noticed with strictly corn they would only come out around low light periods, now they consistently would come all hours of daylight. Pretty powerful stuff.

I’ll have to give the Acorn Rage a try! Sounds like good stuff. Thanks!
