We have been finding that the big walleye are hanging with the big gills in the weeds, using slip bobbers with half crawlers has been the most productive for both species! The best spots have been sunken islands that have good weed growth with a little rock and sand near the drop offs. Good luck all!!

Those are truly amazing gills! Did you ever measure how long they were? I was always curious how long a 2 pound gill would be!

Thanks guys!! Measurement vary but are usually between the 10 1/2 to 12 inches! Weight varies depending on the stage of spawn they r in, n they sure do get some big bellies this time of year!! We try n release all gills so that they can keep those genes going in our heavenly lakes 😁😁😁😎😎😎

Awesome. I pray that the only other people that stumble upon that fishery do the same.

I’ll take one of those gills over a 30″ walleye any day.

    I’m jealous!
