I have snap in carpet and I accidentally pulled a part out of the lid to my battery compartment. This is the part on the lid with the screw. What is the best compound to put in hole so that I can screw back in that part of the snap and it will hold long term? This is fiberglass.

If the snap allows, use the next bigger size screw.

If you have access to the underside, use a machine screw and nylock nut.

Clean the hole out maybe even make it slightly bigger with a drill bit and swing the drill bit around to give it a slight taper at the bottom. Put some masking tape around the hole and if it’s a through hole use tape to dam it on the back. Fill with fast set epoxy. Let cure fully and drill a small pilot hole just larger than the inner diameter of the threads to place the screw into.

Drill the size of a plastic anchor like you would see in drywall or a molly.

Probably not enough wall thickness of the fiberglass to hold a filler material.

can you stick a price of wood underneath to receive a longer or thicker screw
